Backplane Systems Technology is pleased to present MPL’S µMAXBES. The fanless MAXBES has 8 ports of 1Gbit speed and 2 ports of 10Gbit speed. The open frame version provides lockable headers for 1Gbit connections. RJ45 or SFP connectors can be used with the 10Gbit ports. Each port has a status LED that shows the speed and activity of that port.

The MAXBES solution can be utilised as an open frame solution or in a MIL housing with connectors of your choice. Its dimensions are only 115 x 95 x 30mm (237 grammes). 8 fully operable 1Gbit copper lines and 2 fully operational 10Gbit SFP+ devices are powered by 5-36VDC at less than 6W. The product can function between -20°C and +60°C, and an extended temperature version that operates between -40°C and +85°C is offered.

Most Ethernet-compatible transceivers (according to MSA) can be utilised with fibre ports. It gives consumers the option to choose the right transceiver for each link. There is a copper RJ45 carrier that is the same size as the SFP+ carrier. 100Mbit, 1Gbit, 2.5Gbit, 5Gbit, and 10Gbit are supported via the copper carrier. 1Gbit and 10Gbit SFP are supported by the SFP+ carrier.

As a managed switch, the device provides access to different switch settings so that features like Quality of Service, VLAN, Rapid Spanning Tree, etc. MPL offers an intuitive web interface that makes changing switch settings simple.
